Update and a Darling Girl look

It's been a long time since my last post, it feels a bit weird to be honest lol. I often take breaks but I don't intend to quit for good any time soon. I'd like to share a bit of a personal update on why I've been MIA:
I've had an extremely tough year in general but the last few months have been particularly difficult. I lost my Grandma right before Christmas which was really hard for me and my family. Before that, she had been very sick since the early Summer so it was going on for months and months. She lived in another state so there was a lot of traveling and stress involved. I've also been having a really hard time with my own health, which has declined considerably this past year. But for now I'll just say that through it all I still love makeup and feel the need to create. It's one of the things that makes life bearable right now.
So without further ado...

This is primarily a Darling Girl look using some new colors. Well, they're new to me anyway.. back in November, Susan released the Twas The Night Before Christmas holiday collection which is special to me because my sister Becky did the artwork herself! I received samples of the colors since I'm a Darling Girl, but I feel bad that I haven't gotten to use them until now, what with everything that was going on at the time.
I finally sat myself down to do a look the other night and here it is! It's a simpler wearable type look which is what I've been doing lately. I wish the pictures had turned out better but I'm really rusty, so please bear with me!

Pics are clickable:
-Lime Crime primer
-Milani Shadow Eyez pencil in Almond Cream (can't live without this product!!) all over as base

-Wink on lid (Soft peachy pink with gold highlight)
-New Fallen Snow on inner corner (Pale silvery blue with silver iridescence and pink and blue sparkle)
-Sugar Plums on lower lashline (Lavender with silver iridescence and color shifting lavender sparkles)
-Adoration on browbone (creamy pearl nude)
Naked Basics Palette:
-W.O.S. to blend out edges and on browbone (light skintone)
-Crave on outer corner and as liner (darkest brown)
-Faint and Naked2 in crease (medium brown and taupe)
Meet Matte palette:
-Matt Gallagher and Matt Patel in crease (pink taupe and grey taupe)
-Balm Jovi Rockstar Palette:
-Presto on brow (dark brown)
Profusion TwinkleTwinkle palette #01 from Walgreens: shimmery white on browbone as highlight
-MiA BelleZZa gel liner in Marrone to tightline (brown)
-Prestige My Blackest lashes mascara

I love Wink, it's a gorgeous gorgeous peachy pink with gold sheen that is so pretty; my skin has trouble with these peach-toned shades though, they tend to disappear a little bit on me. The weird lighting doesn't help either, but it's a gorgeous color, trust me!
Anyway, I hope I can get back into the swing of blogging again. I have a few more makeup posts to make after this one. I might post a more detailed personal update as well. Please look forward to it :)

Thanks for reading♥

  1. I love this look! Very pretty! =)

  2. I'm so sorry for your loss, Emily. To be honest I missed your posts but it's completely understandable to take time off with everything going on. Stay strong. *hugs*

The look is gorgeous, BTW, the dark brown liner is subtle but it finishes the look, I think. Great job! :)

    1. Aww, thank you so much for the sweet comment♥ I plan to try and post more often so I hope you will enjoy them :)

I like to use Crave as a liner when I want a softer look, it's really pigmented so it's perfect :D

    2. I most definitely will! :)

Thanks for taking the time to comment on my blog! All feedback is appreciated! ^^
